How To Decide If You NEED A Second Wedding Photographer On Your Wedding Day

So, you're here because you can't decide if you need a second photographer on your wedding day. Well I'm here to tell you that it certainly isn't essential, however there are 100% a few things you should consider when deciding if it's completely nessecary.

So I want you to ask yourself these questions in order to decide if you need a second photographer or not, and hopefully by the end of this post you'll have come to a decision!

1 - How Big Is My Wedding Going To Be?

2 - How Many Guests Are Coming To My Wedding? - I'd say if there is anymore than 160 guests, you should consider a second photographer.

3 - Are My Partner And I Getting Ready In Different Locations? - If the answer is yes AND you want grooms prep photos too...then you know your answer.

4 - Do I Want Two Different Perspectives Of My Wedding Day? - All photographers have a different eye for things, which can mean capturing moments differently...

5 - Do I Want To Run The Risk Of Giving More Time To The Photos Than Actually Enjoying The Day? - Having two photographers COULD mean giving double attention to the photos. You don't want it to consume your day.

6 - Do BOTH Photographers Have A Candid, Natural Photography Style? - If yes, you may find that they don't give as much attention to 'posed' and formal photographs of the day. Meaning, your wedding day won't be consumed by them (which is especially good if you have two of them).

7 - Will I Feel Comfortable Having Two LARGE Camera's Following Us Around All Day? - As someone that hates being in front of the camera, I know how nerve racking it can be with just ONE camera let alone two.

8 - How Important Is It To You That Every SINGLE Moment Is Captured? - Please note: Wedding photographers don't have eyes in the back of their heads.

9 - The Final Question...Can My Wedding Budget Afford To Stretch For Two Wedding Photographers? - Just having one photographer will require you to spend a penny (or two...)

And with that, that's all the questions I think you should ask yourself if you're struggling to decide to have a second wedding photographer. I'm sure I've missed a few, so if you have anymore feel free to leave them in the comments below or tell me what you did to make your decision. That's all from me!

Happy Planning!

Yours Kindly, Amy X
